Hi! ?

I've taken the liberty to augment the thread recommendations a bit.??

0.1 What I currently have in mind

  • Ryzen 5 2600 or 3600 (depends mainly on price; the 3600 is a bit expensive, but would probably suffice until the end of the AM4 socket)
  • ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming
  • 16GB DDR4-3600 kit (not set on a specific one, but the Patriot CL17-19-19-39 PVB416G360C7K seem to offer good value for money)
  • Everything else is already here; RM850 PSU, RX580 GPU, bunch of drives, lots of peripherals

0.2 What I want to know about it

  • Any more specific recommendations for the RAM? Specifically, to reach the advertised "DDR4 3466 (O.C.)" speed with the selected board.
  • Any alternatives for the board? I picked this only because of the audio.

1. Budget & Location

  • No fixed budget. Want to spend as little as possible.
  • I'm in Europe, paying in Euros.

2. Aim

  • Office work.
  • Gaming, including high-end titles. Also some CPU-intensive games.
  • Music consumption.

2.1 Other requirements

  • AMD fanboy (has to be an AMD platform)
  • ASUS fanboy (ASUS board would be nice, it's not a must though)
  • Low noise (so aside from the relatively high price, the X570's fans also make it hugely unattractive to me)
  • Solid cooling (as passively as possible during idle, not convinced that covering the whole board in colourful plastic is helping much in that regard)
  • No larger than ATX
  • Need either (any, but preferably good quality) onboard sound that can drive 250 ohm headphones directly or, alternatively, a PCI slot
  • One PCIe M.2 socket for an SSD would be nice (not a must though)
  • No need for more than two PCIe slots, more than one USB3 port, eSATA, more than six SATA ports
  • No interest in manual overclocking, but will use automatic overclocking features if present

3. Monitors

3x 1680x1050. Only single-display gaming. No changes planned.

4. Peripherals

Got it all, including graphics.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I'm looking for a solution for my booting problem, as described here (this also includes full specs for all the hardware I will keep):

Spoiler

Since this is the third or fourth forum I'm troubling with the issue, I'll just assume at this point that it can't be solved and since board, CPU and/or RAM are the most likely causes in my opinion, I want to replace those. Conveniently, they have to be replaced together anyway.
