So I use a program called Total which is a Real Estate Appraisal Software which is my bill paying job.  I have 2 screens, and always have a streaming video playing on part of one of my monitors, and usually multiple internet browsers of Firefox and Edge for different information I need.  The other thing that is usually running is Outlook.

When I try to open the portion of my Total software where I insert pictures into my report, the Browse button (which links to explorer) the video will freeze, audio stutters, sometimes the video will go black and and then all come back.  I have made sure everything in the drivers is up to date.

I just built this system in the past 6 months.

Specs:

Intel I7- 8700k

MSI MAG Z390 Tomohawk Mobo

DEEPCOOL Captain 240 EX Cooler

16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 MHz

Crucial MX500 M.2 SSD (C Drive)

Samsung 860 EVO 1TB (D Drive)

Seegate Barracuda 4TB 5400 RPM (E Drive)

Corsair Gold 750 PSU

MSI Geforce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6

Displays are Samsung 32" Curved (I have 2)

I made sure the Memory is fully boosted in the Bios.  The Spinner drive is the primary drive where all my pictures and files being accessed for the Appraisal software is being accessed. Also have 16gb more of memory on the way to install.

What other things can I look at to have my system stop from lagging?  I know this is more of a gaming type site, but I built a pretty stout machine and I don't think that it should continually have this problem regularly.

Maybe not use 5400rpm drives. They are sooo unbelievable slow compared to SSD’

first I was thinking you might have a ram issue, but as you already have 16 gen and adding a second set that won’t be the issue.

Is windows installed on your ssd?
