Vertical GPU Mounting and Riser Cables

Hey guys, 

 

So I'm planning to use a vertical GPU mount for my next build and I'm kinda stuck here regarding a good riser cable. So far I would like to use the cooler master vertical GPU bracket but from what I've  the cable it comes with is pretty unrliable. Some reviews are stating it works completly fine others saying its utter crap. Unfortunately after quite some research it seems to me riser cables are a little hit of miss in general when it comes to quality, since every single one I found had more or less mixed reviews. Thermaltakes Premium cable being the only exception here. 80 bucks for a cable here at my place seems a bit pricey though. 

 

So my question to you guys is if there is a cable you would truly recommend or whether reliability is a general issue I have to deal with here. (And are defective risers a potential thread to my GPU or does the system just not boot ?)
