I upgraded from a gtx 950 to a gtx 1070 and I was wondering if I should have uninstalled my drivers and reinstalled them?

If it's working ok, don't bother. If you would have had problems, you would have known. For example, a few years ago I had a PC that had an i5 4670.I used the iGPU for like 6 months, then i bought a GTX 970.I forgot to uninstall the old drivers from intel. It wouldn't even POST with the 970.After some time I booted in safe mode without the GPU and uninstalled the drivers with ddu.I put the 970 back in and it worked flawlessly. So, if you booted in windows and it works without crashing when having workloads, you're ok.

(And yes, as "Master DIsaster" said, it's normally ok when you switch GPUs that are from the same manufacturer.
