Hey Guys,

I'm in Canada and I've been using unblock-us.com for about 2 years and it works great with my Linksys router. All devices using it can access Hulu and Netflx no problem.

But it isn't perfect. A lot of sites can still see my IP from Ontario with one of them being Spotify.

So I'm looking for a proper full-fledged VPN to be able to use Spotify (and get rid of geoblocking permanently).

Hotspot Shield looks great, but it doesn't work with routers at all. I could share my PC Ethernet port, but I don't want to be switching cables all the time depending on whether I want to use my Xbox or Smart TV.

That's why I'm here. Can anyone recommend a dependable router-friendly VPN service?

What type of router do you have? If your router is using DD-WRT I would strongly recommend Private Internet Access with L2TP/IPSEC. They claim they don't keep any traffic logs or monitor users activities. Any modern VPN deployment shouldn't use PPTP, stick with L2TP/IPSEC regardless of which service you go with. A lot of people always recommend AnchorFree which I have never used from a router. I don't suggest it as they provide almost no information as to the type of VPN or encryption provided, although I've heard it may be OpenVPN.

PPTP cannot support multiple connections over one VPN tunnel, so no gateway-gateway. It also relies on PPP which never became an industry standard, thus incompatibilities through many different vendors. L2TP/PPTP isn't really an improvement.
