HI all so I have a LG ultra wide monitor which is 2560 x 1080 I was experimenting with some settings in Call of Duty bo2 which are, ultra full screen at correct aspect ratio and 2560 x 1080 and in full screen window to allow it to change the aspect ration 16:9 1920 x 1080. I found that when using normal 1080 lets call it, i get a decent frame-rate through out the game play as well as the colours look sharper and nicer. Where when i am using 21:9 2560 x 1080 the colours look not as good and everything seems stretched out.

So the real question and opinions is what do people recommend to use when gaming?

Do i keep it 1080 full screen windowed?

Does anyone else experience these differences?

Specs should be in my signature 2070 RTX GPU

Thanks

Black ops 2 doesn't have proper 21x9 support.

Flawless Widescreen can be used to somewhat fix issues.

BTW, to avoid confusion in future, full widescreen doesn't really mean anything.

What is the setting for flawless widescreen? and thanks i couldnt remember what the ratio was so just put that haha will change now.

True though is there a way of improving colour while in 21:9.

Also what is best for when streaming as only got a aver media c985 which does 1080 30fps max.

So in terms of colour of the monitor why is it more realistic using 16.9 compared to 21.9

Sorry I've got no idea. BO2 is on the support list so iirc how FW works it should be a 1(maybe 3)-click affair.

Colours changing with different resolutions is quite weird.

Could be something with the game or maybe even the monitor itself.

Are you able to screen shot the effect?

Was not easy to get photos not sure if screen shot would of picked it up.20190822_212227.thumb.jpg.487fa3feffadf84b925c063d871af80d.jpg20190822_212115.thumb.jpg.31f731ffc762e99b52d57f03a1ac3475.jpg

A screenshot will tell you if it's something to do with the game or the monitor.

If you can screenshot it. It's either the game or the OS/driver, which you can find out by looking for the effect in other games and programs.

Steam can save uncompressed screenshots. They'll have the most accurate colour.

I can't see a difference. Took the images into GIMP and checked the values of various UI elements. Everything was either digit perfect or only 1 or 2 points off.

I can only conclude your monitor is doing something funky.

Check the settings to see if there's anything about dynamic colour profiles or something.
