more familiar with what aspect of it? If I put a PC in front of you, how would you be able to tell if there was an AMD CPU inside without opening task manager?

Windows on Intel CPU runs the same as windows on AMD. So does Linux.

AMD is on par with Intel in gaming. Also it has higher multicore performance as compared to similarly priced Intel CPUs.

Alright, Im gonna get into the nitty gritty. I swapped from a 2700X to a 9900K and with the new ryzen CPU's They are pretty much head to head now. For the same price you get more cores with the same IPC and you have the ability to stream and not sacrifice performance from it. If I were you, Honestly I'd go for 3rd gen ryzen and not having to upgrade your mobo everytime a new cpu is out is nice. :)

my help was to give helpful advice. There are extremely few objective reasons to choose Intel right now, and they all involve Adobe or AVX workloads. Brand loyalty gets you nowhere but an emptier wallet.

For gaming??? and even if OP for some reason wants mid-high end NVme for his build , then you should have recommended the sabrent rocket 512gb which is $20 cheaper for similar sustained workload performance

First off , 550w is more than enough for the build. "Headroom" should not be consider as parts will onlyget more efficient in the future due to die shrink and the like. Bitfenix formula gold 550 is $70 onnewegg and similar quality to rmx

It is a bit unnecessary but the efficiency peak of the PSUs is usually found when they work in the middle of their capacity. That is, if you need 650w but you get enough funds to buy a 1200w PSU then the performance of the PSU will be better than it reaches amounts of power close to its limits, again this something that not anyone would care but this is the reason why when you see the lights flickering a bit on almost anything, utility poles, etc... Because the power fluctuates but it is handled better when the power supply is not demanded to work at a %100, below some images for reference:
