Hi guys!

I've been wondering for a while why my build can't run CSGO "smoothly".

I have an:

i5-6600k 3.9-4.3GHz (OC)

Gigabyte z270 Aourus 5

32GB DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB

KFA2 GTX 1070Ti

S.O. in Samsung 970 EVO

Game in Crucial P1 NVMe

PSU Corsair 80Plus Gold RM750

I've just reinstalled Windows.

I have a FHD 144Hz monitor and I'm having constant FPS drops from ~160 to 90-70. I Iowered graphics to medium and disabled 3D sound.

I may be wrong but I think this is not good performance at all even without the FPS drops.

Other games (Apex Legends, Overwatch, PUBG...) run fine, not spectacular, but fine

Any idea? Thanks

what resolution are you running at and have you tweaked any settings in the game other than lowering the settings?

What type of framerate do you have in the other games?

Sorry for the 'up', very new at this forum lol and it looks quite active :P

I'm playing at 2560x1080 (21:9 FHD) @ 144Hz
Overwatch (ultra), Apex(ultra) and PUBG (high/ultra) runs over 144 FPS most of the time with no drops (maybe in PUBG while the parachute landing).

I've noticed a slightly better performance on CS GO when I disabled the 3D Audio, which I think is an CPU intensive feature.

As I said, I think is weird on a 1070 Ti (which is basically a 1080) and the game is installed in a NVMe drive, not the fastest one, but much faster than SATA SSD or HDD. It looks like some kind of bad optimization or something bottlenecking the game.

I already tried disabling Windows Game Bar DVR and closing Corsair's iCue.

Any idea?

Honestly... no... i actually have no idea... if it only happens in csgo then i wouldnt think its a hardware problem. Thats just weird, even with my 580 i can get around 200ish fps in csgo. Any hidden background tasks that could be hogging the cpu?

Well, I fixed it. It was the monitor. I have two monitor, and disabling the G-Sync compatible, 21:9 144Hz, FHD monitor, and playing in the regular FHD 60Hz one I get 250-300 fps with everything in high. I don't know how or why... but at least I know the problem.

Thanks for help ❤️
