Dont run single channel on ryzen and overclock what you currently have to 2933mhz

I tried to overclock it to 2933mhz but it failed since Im new to overclocking, I managed to get it to 2666 and that's what actually made the game run better I think, it used to be 40% GPU usage at max and it would dip down to 13% or even 4% sometimes, And I only have one ram stick so I only can run it on single channel

Hello, I noticed during gaming (especially on battlefield 5) that my gpu is only using 50%-30% while in the menu it is using 70%-90%, I noticed the difference that during actual gaming that it is using 7500+ MB of ram while in the menu it uses 7000 MB or lower, I was wondering if that makes a difference since I only avg 50-60 fps on ultra and avg 60-70 on low and both of them are on 1366x768 resolution and it is the same on other games though the situation is a lot worse at Battlefield 5

My specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 3 1300x

GPU: Nvidia MSI Ventus 1660 TI 6GB

RAM: Ballistix Crucial 8x1 GB 2400mhz

SSD: kingston a400 480GB

All my specs match or exceed the recommended requirements and even though the CPU will bottleneck the GPU it's only a minor bottleneck

Try get a higher speed ram kit. 1st gen Ryzen love RAM speed and better latency.

I know you can only run single channel, just dont get a 1x16 stick and run single channel, and for ram overclocking make sure to up voltage and not leave it stock.

What do you recommend to increase it to? and will do on the getting 2x8, I have an issue where the stock cpu cooler is blocking the ram insertion place, and the psu wires are too short to be turned around, and it is a far stretched question but could the psu also cause the problem with gpu utlization  image0.jpg

Psu could be the issue but i would doubt it, usually a crap psu is just bad for the card and is unlikely to damage it. For ram voltage anything 1.4V is 100% safe and i personally dont go over 1.44V, i would recommend increasing to 1.36-1.37V then increasing if needed.

Will do, but right now I have an off brand 450watts PSU i dont know the name exactly and cant seem to bind the box, but It doesnt ever run hot under heavy stress

Honestly, bad psu's are really bad for your system, i'd upgrade it first.

Yeah i planned to, also do you think the issue in battlefield v low gpu usage is related to the ram since the cpu is getting crippled by the low ram frequency

Yes, i think your ram and cpu are the issue in bfv, that game is stupidly heavy on those components.

Yeah I was afraid so, getting ram is no problem but I'm really concerned if I do so it wouldnt affect it in the slightest and I'd have to get a new cpu anyway thank you so much for the help its really appreciated
