Recommendations for CPU Upgrade

Right now i have a Intel i5-750 @2.67GHz. Since this processor isnt the best for gaming and i am struggling with stuttering, frame-drops and not loading textures, I decided to invest money on an upgrade. Now i need recommendations.l My motherboard is the DP55KG with the LGA1156-Socket (i believe). And the lags have been tracked down to the CPU, since my graphics card is good, I tried on multiple hardrives(not an ssd tho) and i have 16 Gigs of memory. It definitely is the CPU since i downgraded it due to the reason that my old one broke and i didnt experience lag before. So id like recommendations for an upgrade.

You're going to need a whole platform upgrade.. not just a simple CPU switch since you're on such an old platform thats been unsupported for near 10 years now.

AMD 3600 + B450 Tomahawk + 16GB 3000MHz RAM should be a good combo without knowing your budget or anything else about your system.  

 

May want to grab an SSD too, that will help with texture loading if you're on a slow HDD.

what is your gpu? 

ryzen 1600+ b450+ 16gb ram =~$250

Ryzen 3 3200g + b450m + 8gb ddr4 2666mhz (dual channel) is around $210. Keep the case and storage you already have. What psu and gpu are you using?

Where do you live?  Is there a Microcenter near you?
