Hi there,

ever since around a month ago when I upgraded my GPU to an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 I've been having static flickering on my screen every minute or so, it's not horrible, it normally happens on the bottom of the screen and is just a few lines of static (not the whole screen) and only happens for maybe 5 frames, I've tried reinstalling windows, reseating the card (PCIE and PCIE power) and cleaning the card's PCIE contacts and the obvious reinstalling of drivers but nothing seems to help, any ideas?

Thanks!

Jacob.

I would also give a different cable a try as well and a different input on your monitor if it has multiple. Does the static appear in any kind of situation or does it only happen when the GPU is under load?

I'll try switching ports on my GPU, but unfortunately I only have one DP cable, the only pattern I've been able to notice is that it normally happens when I'm using chrome, but if I'm watching a video it doesn't do it, and it doesn't do it when I'm playing games.

it's also definitely worth noting that I started a recording with OBS to try and capture it, but when it happened and I played back the video, it wasn't in the video.

I would go ahead and order another DP cable, it wouldn't hurt to have more than one on hand. A faulty or degraded cable might be whats causing the flickering. I know I have issues with DP cables quite frequently, but that may just be my own doing.

I'm not saying you're wrong, it may be the issue with my main monitor, but I have 3 monitors and they all have the issue.

Oh! My apologies, I didn't realize that all three where connected at the same time, I thought you meant that you just had three monitors laying around, my bad! Is the card a brand new card? And I'm assuming the monitors you're using now you were using them in the same configuration with the previous card? Are you using Mosaic by chance?

No worries! the monitors were used in the same configuration before the upgrade and worked fine, and what do you mean by mosaic?

NVIDIA Mosaic, where you spread your whole screen across multiple displays (in a very crude nutshell). Did you do a proper purging of all video drivers before you upgraded?

I'm not using mosaic, just windows "multiple monitors" setting, and yes, I uninstalled AMD drivers as well as reinstalled windows.
