vive or index

should i get a vive with the knuckles or an the whole index package thinking of getting it next year maybe the price will drop and ill have a saturday job by that time

I would get index, Vive is a little outdated now, but it is dirt cheap on the other hand.

With all accessories it's still $500, and while that's $300 less than launch price, it certainly isn't dirt cheap, especially compared to the $400 rift S

What accessories, you mean the wireless set or something?

 

Anyways rift S to me looks like it has even worse tracking than the original rift, but if you can prove me wrong im all ears. Does it track the controllers if you put them behind your back, or is it like the WMR headsets, that only track when they are in front of you?

Also AA batteries in the controllers? Is it 2008?

So far I haven't had any problems with the inside out tracking behind my head, I believe it uses a trajectory to estimate the path and if so it does a damn good job. Otherwise I think the Rift S honestly has a leg up on the Vive in comfort to wear and picture quality.

@fasauceome i might think about getting the oculus rift s then, but there is one thing, i will only buy it if it works with the index controllers

Oculus headsets don't work with competing headset accessories unfortunately.

These all come with the base kit, no extra purchase required.
