I'm going to have to build a rig soon and while I have experience upgrading a pc I have never really built one from scratch. I came up with this build minimize price whilst also being able to crush games but I'm unsure of how the spec will actually hold up so I'd like to know the internet's opinion. ALSO I'm buying the cpu and gpu off of alibabba.com and I wanted to know if that is a sketchy website to use if any of you guys have experience with it. I also already have a spare hard-drive just chilling which I put in the part picker list just to give you guys a sense of what it is.

Thanks for any potential help.

Your build ^

A few edits:

  • The B450M Bazooka will have much better VRMs for just $5 more. Great value board.
  • I threw the Ballistix Sport RAM in there. A little better CL rating than that vengeance set for less.
  • I included a 120GB SSD, as it will improve your computing experience vastly.
  • For $4 more, I went from 1TB HDD to a 3TB HDD. Grab the extra.
  • Upgraded to a CX650 PSU. Much better unit than the SMART series.

Notes:

  • The 2700X is a pretty sweet CPU. If you don't already own one, you may consider looking at a Ryzen 5 3600 instead. But if you've already got the 2700X it will do nicely!
  • That reference model Vega 56 is going to be hot and loud. You'll need good airflow in your case.
    • The H15 doesn't come with any intake fans, so I'd either look for an inexpensive set, or maybe consider a case that includes more fans/airlfow.
      • I personally think the MB511 is a great choice since it includes 3 solid CM RGB intake fans, an exhaust, and has a top vent for good airflow.
