4770k Overclocking Tempratures

Hello forum, 

 

I am in the process of testing overclocks on my 4770k cooled with a H100i.

What temperatures are safe to run at? And also what temperature will it throttle itself at?

Intel claim 72.72C, So personally I wouldn't go over 70C

Thank you all, 4.7Ghz at 85C is not really worth it then haha

Ivy Bridge and Haswell CPUs unfortunately come with poor quality TIM between the CPU die and IHS. You can lower the temperature quite a bit by replace that and also lapping the IHS.

I'd say stop at a max of 80 degrees. (Stressing)
