I'm confused right now. I'm browsing the net as usual and I hear my cpu fan turned off, I then opened HWMonitor, it showed a blank screen for a couple of seconds and then the fan turned back on as well as the monitor program. I'm very confused as to why this might happen, never in my life I have experienced something like this. I'm currently monitoring all the sensors and will try to see what it is. I've checked every bios setting that might be the cause of this, no idea, is this some kind of power saving mode? I don't have any fan software that might affect this, all controlled by bios and there aren't any power saving options.

Wait, just monitoring program or did you hear/see the fan itself to turn off? This can and most likely is just software issue. Always verify with multiple software when software seems to be bugging.

And no, unless you have set fan to be in 0rpm mode, it won't do it automatically. Plus CPU would still need to be under set threshold. Like mine last winter...
