You'd have to check the manual for the list of supported HDMI resolutions, although I'm not sure receivers bother to mention PC specific ones.  It may only support resolutions a TV will typically support.

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)

and the html version is 1.4B

Yes I noticed that, no manual on the website.  Apparently you have to contact support for the manual which is stupid.

Absolutely, but optical only supports compressed audio so it wont sound as good.

Its actually quite frustrating how HDMI audio works especially on PC as I once wanted similar, to run audio over HDMI while connected to my DP monitor.  But Windows will only output audio to a display that is active (makes sense though as audio is embedded in the video feed over HDMI) and having an active unused display is a PITA, especially as it can have some impact on performance.
