Hey, I've had an issue with my PC for a few months now (two actually). The first, and biggest, is that sometimes the computer will just refuse to start, freezing on the BIOS loading screen. I've tried everything I can to fix it (Windows 10 Repair options, Safe Mode boot, using a backup), but none of it seems to fix anything. Instead, it will randomly boot up properly a few days later, for no apparent reason. It's getting to a point that it's impeaching on my work (well, gaming) and I've tried getting support from my local PC retailer (Umart in Australia), but due to the randomness of the bootup working and not, they said they couldn't find anything wrong. It's super frustrating and I'm super close to just reimaging the entire thing, which I don't want to do and don't think I have to. The other issue I've been having (though very rarely) is that the GPU would sometimes just full on turn off. The rest of the system would still be running, as can be explained by the running fans, lighting, sound, etc. but the GPU would turn off and the only way to turn it back on would be to do a hard reset. So yeah, any advice would be great if anyone has any, thanks. Also, might end up selling the PC if it continues to give me more issues, especially with Ryzen 3000 series coming out and the various other issues I've had with Vega and FreeSync (which I won't list here due to how already rambly I've been).

My PC Setup is:

Ryzen 2700X

Gigabyte Vega 64

MSI B450 Tomahawk

Corsair TX750M 80 Plus Gold

Samsung 970 Evo 250GB

16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro

WD Red 4TB HDD

CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML240L Cooler

Thermaltake Versa J24 RGB Case

The second problem that you are having is a known issue with Windows 10 without an easy fix. Once a windows 10 PC goes to sleep and then wakes up, at a random interval afterwards it will blackscreen on you... The only "fix" i have found for it (havent tried formatting and reinstalling) is to turn off the Sleep function in windows 10.

Tell me more about what happens on startup. Is it stuck on the BIOS loading portion, does windows logo show up? Have you tried a fresh coat of thermal paste and reseating CPU/Memory? Do you have any overclocks on CPU or memory?

My 2700x with B-die samsung G Skill Flare X has issues holding 3200 Mhz (as rated by G-skill) when all 4 slots are occupied (same exact 8 gb sticks X 4 Memory for a total of 32 Gb). If you're running XMP I'd suggest downclocking; Instead of 3200 I'd try it 3000 Mhz for example.

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...

Some suggested fixes are for your second problem (didnt work for me in the past):

1- Turn off Fast Start Up

https://howtoremove.guide/windows-10-black-screen-after-sleep-fix/

2- Others have reported it as an issue with S3 Power state on Ryzen/windows 10. In a command prompt can you type

powercfg -a

and screen cap the result. You may need to enable S3 power state in the Bios

3- Some other suggestions

I don't put my PC to sleep tho, I turned off the sleep option when I set it up. As for the BIOS loading, yeah it stays on that, no Windows logo comes up. I haven't tried the thermal paste yet, and I have a very slight overclock on my CPU, but nothing else. And I'll try your other suggested tactics as soon as I can, thanks

You dont have to manually force the PC into sleep for this to occur. By default, Windows 10 will turn off the monitor after some minutes (a benign thing) and then it puts the PC to sleep after more time. Just turn off the latter through the Sleep menu.

If it’s stuck here it may be a bad “overclock”. Do you have an xmp profile applied to the ram? Is your cpu overclocked? Can you reset cmos to basic settings and see if that fixes it?

ryzen is particular with ram sticks, and even if a stick is rated for a speed, it sometimes fails to achieve it with ryzen. Some cpu overclocks can also be relatively unstable and trigger voltage and current protections. If your CPU manually overclocked? What voltages?

Idk, the overclock I made was half a year ago and it's been fine up until a few weeks ago. As for XMP profiles, I don't know what those are (I'm not the most knowledgeable in overclocking, BIOS stuff and tinkering with my computer software wise), but I haven't touched my RAM when it comes to overclocking. As for how I overcloked my CPU, I used the Ryzen Master app

Can you use cpu-Id to show me your memory and cpu details? I’m curious now.

did you ever update the bios on the motherboard?

Nah, I'm not able to as I still can't get past the frozen BIOS loading. I haven't tried updating the BIOS, I'll try that in the morning and let you know

Try clearing the cmos. Check your motherboard instructions.

Ok, so update:

Tried all that I could, but nothing seemed to work, so ended up taking it into a repair store. While they still have it, they seem think the problem is with the NVMe M.2 SSD when it comes to the boot, as their drives worked fine with the rest of the build. As for the Vega 64 however, they still don't know. Someone suggested it might be that the cooling bracket has lodged itself off, another person thinks it might have something to do with my overclocked FreeSync monitor and the card having issues matching the 35-144Hz refresh rate
