Oh then in that case the W3565 is great, the turbo speeds are plenty high

You also would get the chance to upgrade to 6 cores like the X5650

Hey! So I'm finally planing to build a new gaming rig, so I thought I'd get some advice. Firstly, understand that in my country computer parts aren't cheap and are mostly outdated.

My goal is to get 1080p 60fps gaming (Even low preset is fine for me) for 100 $. Here are the specs I managed to round up:

1 - Intel Core i3 540

2 - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM

3 - GTX 760 2GB

4 - 1 TB HDD (Already Owned)

As for future upgrades I'd get:

5 - 120 GB SSD (Kingston A400)

6 - 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM

I WILL overclock all the components as I already have experience doing so (Haven't been living under a rock ?). My targeted games are Battle Royale (Apex mainly), Titanfall 2 and TombRaider Series.

I'm afraid low won't even get you there, you're rocking a first gen i3 in that list and that's gonna hold you back quite a bit. However, you'd still have the chance to upgrade to a first gen i7 (or Xeon equivalent preferably, they're nice and cheap) and rectify that.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

True, but it's the best I can get yet. Will upgrade to an i7 First-Gen later, but this will have to do. I can't use any core2duo or core2quad as it doesn't have SSE 4.2 and wont run APEX.

If this is all you can get then you have to make it work for you. Check out the Xeons available to you though, they might fit in your budget

Thanks, but any specific good Xeons? I don't know much about xeons.

something like an X3450 or X3460 are good budget options. They resemble i7s in terms of performance but are often very cheap by comparison because companies with tons of servers dumped them on the market when they were being replaced.

Dell proprietary. Optiplex 970 or something, these are cheap here.

Now that might actually make trouble for a Xeon, standard chipsets play nice but OEM boards can be finnicky. Would you be able to borrow a cpu to test if it would work beforehand?

Yes I will, and btw, TONS OF THANKS! I have found Xeon W3565 for dirt cheap here, LITERALLY 7$ a piece. And it's 4C8T! I don't know how to thank you!

That is a socket 1366 CPU, while the i3 540 is 1156. Unfortunately their sockets are not compatible.
