I just build a new system with a ryzen 5 2600 and a rx 580 using the ASUS b450 prime mother bored every time I boot up the pc after about 2 minutes later it freezes. What’s the problem any ideas

Could be related to many things! Is it when you're playing games or doing something in particular? random even when idle? We'll need a little more detail...

No I just built it when I turn it on it just freezes

When I try booting it up to install windows. If I go into the Bios it still freezes after a minute

OK, replace the PSU.

A 10-15 Year old PSU is not a good idea with modern Components.

You need a new, good quality PSU such as Bitfenix Formula, be quiet Pure Power 11, 400W or more.

Just the first one, doesn't REALLY matter. It's just to check if there's not 1 defective stick in the set.

Yeah 40 degrees idle temp is fine.

Yeah defective RAM will be detected and work to boot, but may present issues in windows.

Have you installed ALL drivers?

no because I haven't even being able to install windows to get on to the system I freezes when booting up or trying to install windows

Do you have another place to put the M.2 drive on the mobo? I'd try that. Might be a defective drive or a defective motherboard. I'm willing to bet it's the SSD. Exchange it where you purchased it for a replacement.

it just froze without the m.2 no I don't have another m.2 slot on my mobo

It's not RAM, M.2... likely not PSU... it could be GPU, Motherboard, CPU... unfortunately there's no easy way to determine. I'd suggest going to a local PC shop and asking for help determining the issue...

there is no pc shop near my house

Then you would have to return the possible problematic parts for replacement. As I said, either motherboard, CPU or GPU.

its not the gnu because I had a second gnu and I tried it and it was the same so either motherboard or cpu

what about the psu ?

Yeah then it would be motherboard and CPU.

It would really surprise me that it's the PSU.. but anything is possible. I'd start with mobo/cpu since they're the likely culprits.

okay I'm going to return the mother bored and get another one sent out hope fully that will work
