So I'm about to order a bunch of parts to get my current system back up and running and to complete a brand new build. Looking to see what everyone's thoughts are.

It's an amd build, comparing prices to Intel etc it just seems you get more bang for your buck to me. Here are the specs of the new system.

Ryzen 5 2600 CPU

Asus prime x470-pro am4 motherboard

G skill trident rgb 2x8gb (16 gb) ddr4 3200 ram

Asus arez strix random rx580 8gb GPU

We blue 250 GB m.2 ssd's

Seagate barracuda 2tb HD

Corsair rm650x psus

All these components together is right around $850 with the case. The case is just a $60 case with rgb (wife wants it to be all colorful in her own words lol)

Once I factored in the second GPU for my current computer, and all the peripherals since it's a new build (2 new monitors, keyboard, mouse etc) the cost is right at $1500 for everything, base computer right around $850, GPU for current computer $220, 2 monitors, keyboard, mouse, more thermal paste etc $450.

So all in all I think that's a pretty decent system for the price and allows me to get all the extras I need and stick right at the $1500 price point for everything. Anybody ha e any thoughts or suggestions?

New Ryzen very soon, worth the wait.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

Ryzen 5 and RX 580 is a $600 build.

If you have $850 to play with, spend more on guts and less on fluff.

Assuming this is a gaming build, GPU is so much more in performance value than drives and flashy motherboards.

Why overspend when this has solid VRMs, M.2 and 64GB RAM support for OC and upgradability.

The RMx is a good buy, but if you can't squeeze it, the CX will give you plenty for now.

RX 580 < GTX 1660 <~ RX 590 < GTX 1660Ti < Vega 56 <~ RTX 2060 < Vega 64 <~ RTX 2070

To put into perspective the gap in quality of GPU you could be grabbing at the same price by shifting some less important details.

You could always up the BX500 to the 240GB for another $10 too if you still need that.

For a solid PSU upgrade, you could always grab:

Very nice build, but I'm worried that the Vega 64 may be too hot for that case. The cooling is limited in the Q300L.

DBoy352, are you in the US?  Near a Micro Center?

Fair enough. There are plenty of case competitors for similar pricing

I think this would be a decent case for your build, the Thermaltake V200. Not the best construction, but has 4 included fans, 3 are RGB like requested, and has tempered glass for only $10 more than the Q300L (after rebate). Promo ends in a couple of hours though. No code needed. Free ship. Just a thought.
