ohhh okay that makes more sense than. Does a back plate come with that or does it not need one? And how is this one vs. one that doesn't cover the whole card?

The backplate is purchased seperetly.

And I can't tell if a full cover block is better, sadly I don't have any experience there. But not much of a difference (if any) I guess. :)

Just got this pm from a helpfull user that brougt this to my attention. Might help you.

any gpu water block that isn't a universal gpu block is a full cover block. it doesn't matter if it covers the whole card, the ones that do only cover the non-critical parts with plastic. the difference in full cover blocks is looks and price, not performance.

Etc. vram will be hotter, ofc some vram heatsinks could help that.  :D

I have this block for my 780 and like it a lot. You want to go with a full cover block to really get the best performance. Personally I would say go with whatever EK block you think looks best. The EK 780 blocks that look longer like the one witt posted just have longer plastic tops so that the entire PCB is covered. This is just for looks and doesn't help performance. This is the same case for the backplate, it is not necessary, just for looks, and does not help performance.
