Ipad Pro Type C port problem?

OK I can charge the Ipad and transfer files no issue. However, I feel like the port from plugging in and out is wearing out. Now I have a few devices which use typc and it doesn't feel like the way it does when I plug it into the Ipad. Sort of like a slight grind feel when I connect it.

Now I have normal Applecare not Applecare plus, however, would this be covered as I all I do is plug it in and charge the device.
