Hey there, have got an Asus Maximus Formula III, brained by an i7 880 overclocked to 3.8GHz, using 16GB of Corsair's DDR3 Vengeance Memory, displayed by an Asus AE-2070 RTX and powered by a Corsair AX860i.

The issue is that when I go for the power button and Initiate a turnover the lights, fans and components hit around 500 milliseconds max on the power up before refusing to go any further. I suspect it's the motherboard as I've went in and pulled every component in the house and left the bare board to have a go, encountering the same issue.

I know the board is not dead, because it's being powered but what on the board then could be the cause of the issue? In any case, I might have to get a new board, cpu and even upgrade to ddr4, which is basically halfway to a new PC, but when it does not act like this it runs so smoothly.

At one point I figured out that if I killed the power by unplugging it after use and then hold the power button before applying the PSU's power switch when plugged back up,  it would work, no problem but now even that does not work.

And of course, the stick in my spokes. I did buy this board refurbished on eBay some 4-5 years ago, I think this might have been the reason for the refurbishment and probably even resale.  I had the platform with a lower cpu already in existence so I had decided to upgrade along the same line finding the parts pretty cheap compared to going modern. The last 4.5 years have been good to us as buddies, but I think I might now I have to say good bye :(.
