Hi guys,

 

Just had a quick question:

I recently bought this:

I was wondering if this led module can be submersed in water as I plan to place it at the inside bottom of the reservoir, so in the water. Does anybody know whether this is possible? If not, I will just place it at the inside top of the reservoir as it's a large one that's not gonna be filled to the top anyway and the led is sealed. Appreciate your answers. Thanks!

The inner part will be water proof, as obviously thats how its designed to be used.

 

How ever submersing the whole thing in water wont work, it likely not sealed where the wire goes into the plug, and the wire itself may not be water proof either.

 

Consider using a frosted cylinder to be lit up by the LED from the top of the res. Similar to what XSPC does with the Photon res, (though they do it from the bottom.
