probably just talk to people but i might record in the future.

If you want to talk over skype, just get a Thermaltake Chao Echo. 

For recording or talking on something like teamspeak, get a Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti.

When you want a mic for gaming, you probably want something that is built to negate noise that isn't your voice. Pretty, shiny and expensive mics are awesome because of the capability they have but it generally requires a lot of tinkering to nail what you want when really something else could do just as good, or even better, of a job. But if you really want one, I do enjoy BlueMic's products including the yeti. It kind of combines a great mic with great compatibility through USB (also matches your pice range)
