Hi,

I just recently got a good deal on an brand new RTX 2080.

When I first installed it it ran fine for a day or two then started crashing, but always came back on. Then one day it hard crashed. The system would come back on and run, and the monitor would turn on, then go to sleep because it did not recognize an input. It couldn't find the Display Port.

So I bought a bigger power supply because I only had a 600w PSU and 650w was recommended. I installed an 850w PSU and the 2080 ran fine for 3 days. Then today it hard crashed again and my monitor does not recognize the card.

I have tried unplugging my monitor, I have tried different PCI slots and I have tried different Display Port cables. I am not sure what to do next.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith

What "600W" and "850W" PSU did you buy?

For a single RTX 2080 system, a QUALITY 550W ~ 600W should be more than adequate.

You could run two RTX 2080's off a 850W PSU.

Did you download the latest GeForce drivers from nVidia's website...or did you use the drivers from CD/DVD (do they still do that anymore) ??

I bought a Rosewill Photon 850w 80 Plus Gold PSU. And I wiped the previous drivers and updated them to the latest from Nvidia

Which brand and model RTX 2080 did you buy?

Make sure your version of Windows (assuming Windows 10?) is relatively up-to-date as well.

It could be a faulty RTX 2080.

Usually, if it is a defective card from the factor, immediate symptoms will appear within the first few days.
