cannot find nvlddmkm.sys/SLI problem

miyabwah

so my first problem is my sli bridge is not detected, i tried putting the fingers on both sides, diagonally even, flipping it around, no dice, this was an sli bridge i took out of the packaging today but i wouldn't be surprised if it was bad since i don't know how long it's been in that packaging.

i'm trying to use differentsliauto to run my 2x 970's together (different brands, sli bridge not detected) and i can't find nvlddmkm.sys in c:\windows\system32\drivers.

the image shows where the file should be but isn't

i have reinstalled my nvidia drivers countless times at this point and am currently on 411.63 because of all the different versions i was testing. i've tested 399.07, 411.63, 416.94, 417.35, 417.71, and 419.35, all using DDU each time.
