So I have a Dell Studio XPS that I kinda want to make a bit better

The PC has this:

-Intel i7 975 Extreme

-10gb of DDR3 RAM

-GTX 1050ti

-Stock Intel cooler

-3.5(ish) tb of storage

-idk what my PSU is

My GPU works completely fine with this, but my biggest problem is the RAM and the storage, as they are both about 5-7 years old, so my plan is to buy new DDR3 RAM and new hard drives

Thinking of this hard drive:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013QFRS2S/ref=twister_B07M8JQ5S5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

And this RAM: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHA44MK/ref=psdc_172500_t2_B007GWMR6U

Any ideas as to what I should do would be greatly appreciated :))

Edit: If I were to build new, my budget would be around 700$, while an upgrade would only be about 200$(ish) as I my current build is for just gaming, and I just want to fix my PC the best way I could.

Buying new RAM or more RAM would be a waste

Probably just buy an SSD instead of a hard drive

Or save all of that money for a Ryzen 3000 CPU upgrade in June July

Motherboard is maybe $80, 6 core 5ghz CPUs are rumored at $99, DDR4 prices are between like $50-90 for 8GB vs 16GB

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

what kind of budget im a fan of the old school hardware especially when its still good usable hardware. the real question is what's the clock speeds on that cpu and can you push them on the dell board.

I would agree its almost time for you to do a cpu upgrade its a aging platform at this point it can be 4.1 on 4c8t which its still a good 1080 60hz gaming for 2018 but your 1050 ti is choking it I'm betting its only running at 50%ish with that card I would see what revision of sata is on your motherboard for max speed of it and also look into a used 1060 6gb or a rx580 8gb to push that cpu a bit. also what the max ram speed of that board is and try to find some used overclocker ram and do a cheap max out on it and build something good to go for 2019. w

Get an ssd.

10GB is an unusual amount of memory. It should be more than sufficient for most general purpose use.

Without knowing how the system used and without a rough budget, it's not really possible to comment on the title question.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Ok, so I went on ahead to make a build on PC Part Picker, wondering if this is good enough for gaming (play CS:GO, TF2, OW, and sometimes Arma 3 or GTA V)

P.S: I will be using the same 1050ti for this build
