Computer freezes at times

Hello so from a month or so i have a problem with my pc that i build last year March(2013) and it freezes up about 1-2 a week and i can move my mouse around but cant do any thing cant do ctrl+alt+del or anything i just have restart my pc here are my specs

 

MOBO:Asus P8H61-MX USB3

CPU: i3 3220

GPU: Radeon HD 7770 GHz edition

RAM 1x4GB XMS 3 1600MHz

OS: Win 7 professional 64bit

Are your hard drive(s) and ram stick(s) in healthy conditions?

 

Both of these could cause the freezing.

we're going to need more context than that, what are you doing before it freezes?

What are you doing to cause it to freeze up?

 

If you want to see if the hard drive is healthy then download CrystalDiskInfo and for the memory I'd use Memtest86

my pc also freezes when i used office or open a .pdf file. It happens every time and then comes back after a minute or so.

 

my PC is only half a year old and everything's okay. No damage done to hardware.

To be honest it always happens during different things but i realised when ever i play a movie or something t freezes and sometimes just randomly when i open up a browser

So did mem test it did all 21 tests and nothing no errors discovered and my Hard drive is all good no problems aswell so what could it be?

try different  Mainboard if that is possible, or try to use differnt sata port from hard drive.

Did you upgrade a component or install anything a month or so when these freezes began occurring? If you transferred or cloned a drive from a different pc setup then probably need to reinstall windows. Make sure your drivers are all up to date, try a virus scan,or try restore windows from a date you know it wasn't having the problem.

I tried all of this but i think its somethign with the windows and will format my pc in about a month anyways and ill see if it helps
