This is my first time posting In this forums but I have been a fan of Linus for a long time now. This is my first build log but definitely not my first build. Computers have been my passion since I was 4 years old ( No kidding). Nuff said ))

Parts list: ( // means I have that part already)

Mobo: Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 rev.4 //

CPU: AMD fx 4300 Black edition //

VC: MSI N760 hawk edition

Ram: Not sure really might go for a 4 x 4 GB vengeance pro or dominator light bars ( suggestions?)

HDD: 2 x 1 tb WD caviar black // + 1 x 500 GB caviar black

SSD: Corsair Force GT 60 GB ( or somewhere like that)

PSU : I have a strike x 650 w bronze PSU but I might go for a corsair one ( again suggestions?)

Cooling: Here I'm kinda stuck for sure I'm not going to use my old CM seidon . But I might go for a Corsair H100i ( funny thing here I'm thinking of modding it to have a separate reservoir wtf? I know but might look pretty sick though or I might go far a full on legit water cooling shizz) ( again suggestions pls?)

CHASIS: CM NSE 500 //

Mods:

Well first of all the concept Riotbox.

I'm leaning to a police riot control kinda theme

Something Like that Rig from dead space 2 . I'll build my CHASIS concept from that

If I'm going to get a h100i I'll be having that modded with clear tubes and all

That's basically the concept . I will post some of the pics soon as well as the final plans. Please give me your suggestions to Make this an awesome build ) thanks

Now to the critisizm

 

1. cant you squeeze for a better cpu like 6300 or 8320? That would be much better.

2.Go with what ram you fancy, but dominators are really overpriced and again makes no sense pairing them up with that cpu

3.Get a bigger SSD instead of a additional 500GB HDD, get a 240GB+ ssd or more if you can afford, SSD makes all the diffrence

4.Your PSU should be more than enough

5.Try and squeeze for a 770, its worth it

 

All and all id like to see build log of this pc in the Build logs section of the forum

 

EDIT: i forgot to tell you that this topic might fit better in New builds and planning section instead of Motherboards and cpus and ram

First of all what is you're budget?

Because you went for an extremely low end processor,and then you decided on $300 ram.

advice: dont get this motherboard if you plan on overclocking, the vrm heatsink is, in my opinion, really insufficient and gets excessively hot under normal load - personal experience

 

maybe step up to a UD5 or look at some of the options from asus

My budget depends on the final list of my parts that i get from this thread.  mvitkun my ram is not decided and ill probably go for fx 8350.  lazerphazer21 yes overlocking is going to happen but i already have it and i dont think ill spend more im ok with that mobo. And for my VC ill rather stay with the msi n760 hawk cause its cheap and powerful at the same time
