Hello I have a question that I think fits here best.

I want to know what would be the best method to pass a game consoles output video through my PC. I want to be able to use my PC as a monitor where I can play the console within like an application (with option to go full screen). I realise I can go straight into my monitor, but I like the idea of being able to play within the OS as it's quicker for me to switch between the two that way.

My main concerns would be lag and an FPS limit, are there any method/s that avoid these?  I'd like HDMI and composite input capabilities.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers,

Chris.

If the PC doesn't have a HDMI input there is no way to do it with HDMI

Though there are some composite "capture cards" on amazon that get the composite signal into USB..

I think that is the only way to do it.. I have checked it on YouTube for tutorial and it seems to work..

Here is a liink to those "capture cards"  : http://www.amazon.co.uk/August-VGB100-Video-Capture-Card/dp/B008F0SARC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390129014&sr=8-1&keywords=composite+capture

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was looking at those on ebay. So there wouldn't be an FPS limit or input lag if I used one of those?

HDMI isn't an issue at the movement but I'm thinking about getting a Wii U. If I do go ahead and get one I'd like to be able to plug that in too.
