AMD FM2+ worth it?

im building a new amd system and i was wondering if the fm2+ socket would be worth going to, i was going to get an athlon 760K with a gigabyte GA-F2A88X-UP4 and 8GB corsair vengeance.

will there be more fm2+ cpus coming? should i do this build? i have heard amd is putting more focus on this socket and that there will be more cpus, so the athlon would be temperary.

Do the build, you won't regret it. The board I would personally replace with a Gigabyte G1.Sniper A88X because I like the green, but the GA-F2A88X-UP4 is a killer motherboard. Remember that you do need a dedicated GPU with the AMD Athlon CPUs, although you probably already know this.

The type of GPU doesn't matter. The GTX 760 would fit quite nicely, since there wouldn't be a bottleneck.

what is wrong with your i5, and if you do get it please for the love of god get an aftermarket cooler because the stock amd one is abysmal, sounds like a jet engine

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

im going to keep the i5 system but i want to build another sysytem, preferably an amd one.
