Plan to Upgrade PC

NightlyGamer

Hello,

My current system:

CPU: i7-4770K

Motherboard: GA-Z87-D3HP ATX LGA1150

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB STRIX

Ram: Ballistix Sport 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Main Drive: HyperX 3K 120 GB

Second Drive: 850 EVO-Series 1 TB

My plan is to update to i7 8700k and ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F.

Is this a good idea? I need some feedback plz.

Should be a good upgrade and free up a potential CPU bottleneck you might have right now. Don't forget that 8700k is gonna use DDR4 memory so you will also have to buy that as you are using DDR3 currently.

Gaming - Ryzen 5800X3D | 64GB 3200mhz  MSI 6900 XT Mini-ITX SFF Build

Home Server (Unraid OS) - Ryzen 2700x | 48GB 3200mhz |  EVGA 1060 6GB | 6TB SSD Cache [3x2TB] 66TB HDD [11x6TB]
