GPU Recommendation for build

Hey guys, I'm building my first gaming PC based on Linus and other YouTubers recommendations and my own research, but I'm finding hard to know which GPU to pair with the build I'm doing. I almost got the RTX 2070 (I ordered and before shipping realized that the GPU wouldn't fit on the Air 240 case which I intend to buy), but after seeing a couple of other videos saying the 2070 is a flop and not worth its value I am not so sure on which one to get.

 

I live in Canada as well, around the BC area, so all prices are in Canadian Dollars. Also, I was planning to pay up to 700CAD on the GPU so I do have a ceiling, so a 2080 or 2080Ti (which I saw costing over 1k) are out of my budget.

 

Also, I didn't buy a power supply yet, I'm waiting until after I decide on the GPU to see the amount of power needed.

If you want a 2070 you must get a diffrent case. It's quite big and heavy. There are small form factor GPU's avaible. Also in 1080 version it will perform on 2070 level. 

 

And btw. I don't find the 2070 a flop  it's a beast of a card  . Money well spend.

I found 2070's that fit on that case, anything with a height lower than 120mm fits in there. They are a little bit more expensive, but not much.
