Swapping a semi modular psu cable

Hi does anyone know if it is possible to swap the pcie cable? i.e. the 4+2 pcie cable into the psu while the 6 pin into the gpu

I'm assuming you mean 6+2 cable? Yes. Just make sure you replace it with a cable that is compatible with your particular model of PSU - NOT ALL CABLES ARE THE SAME!
You can check the PSU manufacturers website to see if they sell replacement cables, or try custom cables from the likes of Cablemod (and others).
