Alright checked first to see if board supported new CPU, it does. Went from a Q9300 to a Q9550 power consumption is the same 95w. So I don't thinks it's a power issue. After CPU swap when powered on desktop fans spin up but that is it. No beeps and no board bios. Put old chip back in everything comes right back on. Tried resetting the CMOS but still nothing. Any ideas? Yes, I know the 775 is old and currently have to desire to do a new build. Just wondering if the chip is dead or not.

Is that chip supported on the board you are putting it into?
