Anyone know how to read an electrical meter? I'm trying to figure it out but following the ru>les that websites tell me I end up that the numbers going down so obviously I'm doing it wrong. Heres the 2 pictures I wanna read. I'm trying to help a buddy with his power problems and I don't want to wait until the bill to fix it

20166

I thought that at first to..... but it can't be as the other reading is before that one and it looks like 20932. Plus the bill was 20397 which is before both. I thought the second one was 21166

Often times power companies "estimate" based on passed usage if they don't feel like sending a person out.

True but the other one is 20932...... so it can't be 20166 after that. Pictures are in order of time, but yes I know they do that. Luckily in this case we saw the reader stop in.

Top is 19932, bottom is 20056.Some of the dials are read clockwise, the others are read counterclockwise, confusing AF.

Extremely confusing.... especially since the meter person was there a  few weeks ago when it was bill time and read 20397. Like they were there no estimate, it's annoying..... digital meters FTW!

Or they actually drove by and did all the nearby building and then estimated it....frig I gotta check my meter now lol

Edit: mine fits so likely not estimated.
