For a few years, I have been buying audio devices which appear to be good deals, including

Sennheiser HD579

Superlux HD681 EVO

Brainwavz M100

Brainwavz Delta

However, the $6 QKZ DM6 I prefer over any of those.

Furthermore, after custom building (and designing :) ) some speakers which blew them all away in every way (except for soundstage width and of course portability), I don't know where to go next. I liked the $50 Final Audio E3000, but it was a small improvement over the DM6 and is nowhere near as good as my speakers. I enjoy owning lots of audio devices and comparing them, however the $6 earbuds' performance has made me reluctant to buy anything over $50. The fact that some people claim $50 headphones are better than $200 headphones, and I think $6 earbuds are better than my $80 headphones only makes things worse.

Right now I am perfectly happy with the DM6, but would something better would be cool. I prefer IEMS so far because they have better sound and isolation than over-ear and on-ear headphones. Right now I think my best bet is buying something portable because I don't think I can spend a reasonable amount of money on home audio and gain any improvement.

tl;dr:

$6 earbuds embarrassed my other audio equipment, custom speakers are amazing

Right now here are my ideas:

1) explore chi-fi and buy lots of cheap earbuds, learn my preferences

2) buy stuff for my speakers, like sound tiles, amps, etc

3) buy a sub for the speakers

3) save for some really nice headphones

Thank you :)

buy a used active sub or save.

cheap earbuds are cool but €/$ +-300 cant are way better than cheap earbuds.

i got the monoprice m1060 and they are way better than my €20 earbuds.

or save for a dac/amp and headphones. you can use a dac for your speakers.

but all this is your choice

Please don't get any of those.
If you want cheap, really good sound that you can take out with you, then the Koss KSC75's would be a great choice.
There's also the Creative Aurvana Live which are much better than every headphone listed above sound-wise. (M1060's included)  Now-now, if you want IEM's there are a bunch of good one's to pick from. Here are some that I know of
BGVP DMG, Tin Audio T2 and Vsonic GR07. Here's a ranking list you might like and find useful for picking out IEM's.

If you'd like, I could recommend some more headphones if you could give me your exact budget.

I don't have an exact budget, but I ordered the senfer dt6. It hasn't shipped yet, and I am thinking about cancelling it for the Tin audio T2
