Looking to Upgrade CPU

Looking to upgrade my CPU without spending a fortune, I was looking at AMD FX-8350, but wasn't entirely sure. Thanks for any help! (New to PC building btw)

 

Current CPU: Intel Pentium Gold G5400

Motherboard: Gigabyte H310M S2P 

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 2400MHz (x2)

GPU: PowerColor RX580 Red Devil OC 8GB

8350 is hot, and performs like a 2600

 

since you already have this set, why not get a 8100/8400 or something along those lines?

i think you mean an i3 8350k instead of the fx8350 but even then i dont recommend it since the i5 8400 is cheaper and has 2 more cores

You could put an i7 8700 in there if you wanted, it just depends how much you want to spend.  The 8400 is cheap, a BIG upgrade from the pentium and matches well with your 580 for gaming.
