In other words, the i7 8700K is a better choice for heavy multithreaded applications where it's better to have 12 averagely weaker threads, the i7 9700K is better for the scenarios where you don't need more than 8 threads and it's far better than the old i7-s which had 4 cores with HT although they also have 8 threads.

Hyperthreading [virtual cores] does not provide the same benefits as actual cores.

It's great to come here to have people who keep up on new stuff haha

I used to be VERY active here 3ish years ago and kept up with everything, but not anymore. I can make the decisions but finding the relevant info sifting through articles on the internet can be difficult.
