Memory type question

So I'm rebuilding a Dell Poweredge T110, and I am looking for ram.  The cnet msc is ddr3 PC3-10600 with ecc unbuffered support.  Will PC3-12800E work so long as it is unbuffered ram?  And will putting higher clocked ram work?  I think the board only supports up to 1333mhz but the 12800e ram I was looking at is 1600mhz. Will it just downclock the new ram?

It'll downclock. Also, make sure you aren't mixing RAM types as that could lead to some issues.
