from Power button to Windows desktop

hi,

i was thinking about from the pressing a power button to the windows desktop 

what happens.

i understand the idea of P.O.S.T. but i have noted when i moved from a older BIOS to UEFI that boot times well overall faster it seems slower to start video output.

 

i wonder what exactly happens.

thoughts?
