"Out of Range" message Benq + rtx 2080

gannicus8913

Hi everyone,

I have recently got a new desktop computer. and I have a RTX 2080.

I had previously a monitor Benqxl2430T. Which I am still using. I have this computer for the past week and never had any issue with it running on 144hz 1920x1080 resolution for gaming.

However, today the screen started to turn off and give me a message "out of range". which was fixed by reinserting the dp to dp cables.
but it is pretty annoying and got me "worried" if there is something wrong with my machine.

anyone has an idea what could it be? I tried to search some old topics, but not sure I could of find an answer there because they are old topics.

Try blowing on the ports first (on the graphics card, both ends of cable, and monitor) to remove dust.

If that didn't fix it, it's probably an issue with your cables. Try borrowing some from a friend or something and see if that's the issue.

Worst case scenario, your ports are screwed up. Try another port on your graphics card. If that doesn't fix it, contact BenQ.
