Sharp noise from Mic

Threa

I am using a Mic (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAQWCGS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) connected to my ATH M50x's and notice a sharp noise when I record my voice. I've messed around with settings and nothing helps. Is this normal, do I need to adjust other settings or do I need some extra hardware to fix the problem?

Typically white noise on a mic is caused by the noise inside your machine before it's converted to a digital signal.

I'd recommend getting (if you don't have one already) a cheap external USB sound card. The card will convert to digital before sending it to the cpu.

I've had great success with this and my modmic 4.

Never dismiss a possible solution because of a respected brand.

Thank you for your reply. Would something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-External-Adapter-Windows-AU-MMSA/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1548354994&sr=8-4&keywords=external+USB+sound+card

Or could you recommend one?
