Hey guys,

Yesterday i upgraded my Acer Predator from 2014 (G3-605) from a GTX 745 to a GTX 1060 6GB.

The card works, but it does not show the bios screen anymore.

It just holds the screen black and all of a sudden, boom its on.

Any idea how i can fix this?

Because i can not access the BIOS now.

UPDATE: so, i removed the 6pin from my GPU and booted using the VGA on the onboard GPU.

That works... really weird. Any idea's?

Guessing the new card doesn't initialize quick enough, if you tap the normal key, it should still enter bios.

A workaround is to do the following (Windows 10 instructions):

  1. Navigate to settings. ...
  2. Select Update & security.
  3. Select Recovery from the left menu.
  4. Click Restart Now under Advanced startup. ...
  5. Click Troubleshoot.
  6. Click Advanced options.
  7. Select UEFI Firmware Settings.
  8. Click Restart.
