Intel NUC Display Issues

Hi, I have an Intel NUC5i7RYH for the past 3 years and is working fine. I have changed my monitor which is connected to the NUC, the monitor which i have now connected is a very old samsung model with only a vga input. My NUC only has mini display and mini hdmi out, to connect the monitor i have plugged it with a mini display to hdmi(female) adapter then with hdmi to vga(female) adapter then with the vga cable to the monitor. 

Now my problem is that when i connect the monitor with the NUC using the above connections it gives me no display message. I have checked it with different monitors and it still does not work Please help.

 

Now if i connect the monitor with the mini display to hdmi(female) to hdmi cable to the monitor then the display works just fine.

 

Please tell me a way to make the vga display work with the NUC.

If I had to guess, the HDMI to VGA adapter needs power it can only get from being connected directly to the host device. The mDP to HDMI adapter probably doesn't pass power (whatever little is allowed) along.

 

You'll need something like this or this, probably.
