Winter - My PC

1000donny

This isn't a build log, more like a post showing what my PC is.

mypc.thumb.jpg.794255f0138cf0977108fc46934c555d.jpg

So this is Winter. She's got a i5 9600k (6/6), 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Ram, and a GTX 1060 6GB SSC by EVGA.

She's running windows 10 pro 64 bit, and she one heck of a computer for me. For the longest time I was stuck with a old dell, mentioned in my signature, which I made better weeks before I built winter.

Her i5 is being cooled by a Hyper 212 Evo, and she has 250GB of super-fast NVME M.2 SSD-ness, by Samsung. Specifically a 970 evo. She also has a 1TB WD Blue HDD.

The motherboard is a MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC. All of this is being powered by a Corsair CX650M, and being housed in a Cooler Master Masterbox 5 White.

The peripherals are as follwed:

Corsair K55 RGB (KB)

Corsair Sabre RGB (Mouse)

Corsair VOID Pro RGB Black (Headset)

Asus something or other 1080p 16:9 monitor

Logitech USB Speakers.

My desk is a cheap glass one that I bought at OfficeDepot.

So there ya go, if you have any questions or upgrade ideas leave em below.

I'm planning on getting a i7 9700k, and either a GTX 1070 or 1080.

Also heres a PCPP List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y2CmpG

You probably wouldn't need an i7, unless you really want to stream or something idk. I think a good CPU cooler for a strong overclock and a 1080 would make for an excellent rig.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I do want to stream, but the thing is I have a secondary PC (in my signature) that would be more than capable of capturing an outgoing signal from my PC. Also, upon further inspection, i'd get a 8700k instead of a 9700k because Intel took hyperthreading away from the 9x processors except for the i9. I'm working on getting a 1080, depends on how much money I can get.

An i7 from 9th gen has 8 cores over your current 6. Also I don't recommend using that core 2 quad for streaming, it wouldn't produce a very high quality stream.

Yeah, it can't handle a simple OBS recording now that I think about it.  The thing is though, that the 8700k has 6/12 while the 9700k has 8/8. Depending on what I get into (I'm learning how to model in Solidworks) the hyperthreading may help me.
