Looking to get a Seagate 8TB Backup Plus. As standard it's black.

There is an Xbox version that's white. Anyone know if they are the same drive inside? And if there are any differences at all? The Xbox version is cheaper on Amazon right now, hence why I'm asking.

While the drive is most likely the same, the formatting is different, you can reformat the drive to work on pc but there is no guarantee that you will be able to reformat it back to xbox in the future.

My system-Core i7 6950X, AsusX99 DeluxeII, 128gb Crucial DDR4, Corsair 900D Titan X, Asus Thunderbolt EXII Card,Quadro M4000,Intel X540 network card

I don't even have a Xbox. I only need this for PC. I'm sure though any drive can be reformatted on a Xbox by just plugging it in and selecting format in one of the menus. Do you have experience or knowledge about this? 'Most likely'. You are assuming rather than knowing.

And where did you get this info of 'no guarantee that you will...' etc?
