Major Dilemma!

Looking to get a phone for my birthday in a couple of days.

I've been looking at the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

But the Global version doesnt release for a couple days.

I could get this.

But its been (sort of) announced that the mix 3 is going to have an upgrade to a Snapgragon 855 in Q1 2019.

Should I wait for that?

 

OR 3rd choice, get the cheaper Xiaomi mi 8?

 

Currently got a 6s which I dont mind, but really need a new one, this one is slow and in a need of an upgrade!

 

Please help.

There has been some spec leaks but I'm not sure!
It does have 5G support but again, 5G will not be widely available
