I currently have a Ryzen 7 2700X sitting around and want to put to use.

Can someone recommend me a build for this? Budget is around £800 max, also UK vendors or links if possible please.

If anyone has got any other ideas what I can do with this processor as my current system is still pretty decent

Current rig

i7 4790k @ 5.6

970GTX 4GB MSI Superclocked

16GB DDR @ 2333mhz

Samsung 970PRO 250GB nVME

1TB in SSD

4TB in HDD

CM Stryker case.

Also very likely I will be swapping the nVME drive over to the new build along with another SSD for storage.

You might need to tell us your use case. Only gaming? Gaming + Streaming? Some productivity like CAD or editing? I don't really see your benefit in upgrading anything but the GTX 970. Also what resolution and frequency runs your monitor at? The 4790k is still a fast enough processor for day to day tasks and gaming.

If you are streaming, maybe you want to use one PC just for capture and encoding. Do you want a spare PC for friends to game together?

Heya sorry!

I'm not looking to upgrade my rig, I Just want to create a new build with the Ryzen 7 2700X. My main use will be for gaming, I was also thinking to use one for streaming as I have streamed in the past. So we will say my current rig will be used for streaming.

1080p @ 144HZ. I don't need monitors included, I only need the rig.

So got £800 to spend on everything but the CPU as I already have the Ryzen 7 2700X.

Thank you.

So put this together -

Was thinking maybe this mobo instead? https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-B450-GAMING-PLUS-Motherboard/dp/B07FNKGZPM/ref=pd_sbs_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07FNKGZPM&pd_rd_r=d9721386-08b7-11e9-b808-fdb51f2211df&pd_rd_w=3hrkS&pd_rd_wg=EBLXt&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=J0NJRKGMTV6AMYADKM76&psc=1&refRID=J0NJRKGMTV6AMYADKM76

I like the look of this, do you think it's worth upgrading the motherboard to X470, there is a chance I will slightly overclock but won't go that far?

I feel like it might be a waste of money but also just looking forward.

Thank you,

the B450-A Pro will be able to overclock just fine with it's VRMs, no need for an X470 board with a slight OC.
